What are cloud services?

The Cloud is a collection of services running on the Internet that duplicates the functionality of on-premise servers. It eliminates the need to buy and maintain your own servers. All the standard server functions are available in the Cloud; support for websites, email servers, databases, storage space, back up services, web application environments, and much more.

Once you sign up for a service it becomes immediately available, typically in a matter of minutes. No more buying a server, then waiting for it to arrive, then waiting for a tech to setup and configure it, and join it to the network. Cloud services are yours to use right away. 

Also the Cloud is not an either / or choice. Cloud services can co-exist with on-premise servers. You may have an in-house accounting system that you would prefer to leave in place.  No problem.
